The LadyShe came to me
I did not know her
yet she cared
for me
Her eyes shone with hope
Her hands reached out
with compassion
I asked her name
It was Grace
When she found me
my life was in a shambles
She rolled up her sleeves
Love was her hammer
Truth was her nails
Her determination
would fight with me
for me
She knew I was hurting
even though I could not see
She was my breath
when my lungs grew tired
And I rarely voiced
my appreciation
for her endless labor
Yet,
somehow, she became
my wife
That the slob I am
is loved
by such a treasure as she
I rarely understand
We have been married
for five years
and it is only now
that I am really beginning
to see why
so many people
call her amazing
